Following the acquisition of a number of local taxi companies RCA found themselves in the enviable position of being the largest taxi company in Sheffield with around 700 cars operating.

In addition to their traditional work they also work for a number of high profile account customers including all the NHS trusts in Sheffield, both universities along with a number of other large businesses.

The management team felt it was time to develop a corporate identity which would truly reflect the size of their organisation whilst also embracing the city which they served.

We were commissioned to work with the management team to develop the new brand of ‘City Taxis’ Not only did the brand have to communicate the right message. It also had to be flexible so it could be used in an outdoor environment as well as on more sophisticated literature for its account customers.

Initially we created the base logo to be used on the side of cars and other forms of outdoor advertising. We then included a range of cityscapes to enforce the Sheffield brand and create a much softer more corporate identity.

The branding has been used on a full range of literature including stationary and cars and lastly has been adopted by their website.
